The Time Problem: Why Your Business Needs More Implementation, Not More Information

A few nights ago, I was on a strategy call with a business owner until almost midnight his time.

We talked about his business, where he wanted to go, and whether Landscape Lighting Secrets was the right fit for him.

Toward the end of the call, I asked him a simple question:

“On a scale of 1–10, where are you?”

He said, “8.”

Then I asked what was holding him back.

His answer?

Money.

Time.

Honestly, I appreciated the honesty.

Because those are probably the two biggest constraints almost every business owner feels:

“I don't have the money.”

“I don't have the time.”

But here's what I've learned:

The money problem can often be solved by making better business decisions.

The time problem, however, tends to stick around unless you intentionally decide to fix it.

If Nothing Changes, Nothing Changes

Think about where you'll be six months from now if you continue doing exactly what you're doing today.

You'll probably still be saying:

“I don't have enough time.”

“I don't have enough money.”

And the reason nothing changes is simple:

Nothing changed.

It's easy to blame bad luck, the economy, or the market. But sometimes the biggest factor isn't what's happening around you.

It's the decisions you're making every day.

Are You Consuming or Implementing?

Look at your phone right now.

How much time are you spending scrolling social media?

Watching videos?

Listening to podcasts?

Consuming content that you never actually implement?

Don't get me wrong. I love learning.

I love podcasts. I love Alex Hormozi. I love Russell Brunson. I love Tommy Mello.

But if you're trying to build your first million-dollar lighting business, why are you spending all your time studying how someone built a $100 million company?

That's probably not your bottleneck.

Your bottleneck is implementation.

Knowledge without action is just another distraction.

You don't necessarily need more information.

You need more intentionality.

Put on the Blinders

You need to decide what actually moves your business forward and eliminate everything else.

Maybe that's hiring your first employee.

Maybe it's building an SOP.

Maybe it's finally understanding your numbers.

Maybe it's creating a marketing plan.

Whatever it is, stop waiting for the perfect time.

Block it on your calendar.

Protect that time.

And actually do it.

Because successful businesses don't happen by accident.

They're built intentionally.

One decision.

One system.

One uncomfortable step at a time.

Your Challenge

So here's my challenge for you today:

What's the one thing you've been putting off because you “don't have time”?

Identify it.

Put it on your calendar this week.

Then execute.

Your future business isn't waiting on more motivation.

It's waiting on implementation.

Keep Moving Forward!
